Marco Benedetti is a professional photographer and artist from Switzerland with Italian roots. He is also a martial arts instructor, having spent several years in Japan practicing Karate, Kobudo, Tai Jitsu, Kendo and Iaido. In his early professional life, he studied precision mechanics, then later technical computing to become an ETS engineer. Several postgraduate studies in project management, visual information communication and numerous certifications in IT security accompany his curriculum.
He studied photography in Milan in the 90s. He started with analogical techniques, mastering pinhole and wet plate, then moved on to all the new techniques available. In the early days, he worked for photo agencies and sports magazines, but it was much later that he was deeply inspired by fashion, beauty and emotions.
His work is meticulous, every detail, every pose is of major importance to him, and he captures unique moments with technique and precision, while letting his imagination follow the rhythm of his creation.
For him, there's no such thing as art if you don't count the time devoted to the creative process. It's a question of emotions, of research and spontaneity of mind and heart, of understanding and being in communion with what surrounds us.
He works in virtually every category of photography, his favorite themes being sports, portraiture, fashion and fine art. His preference is to work with and master natural light, using both analog and digital cameras.
His main aim is to work in a way that awakens the emotions to create an authentic and timeless story, sometimes combining it with painting, drawing or mixed media artworks.
Her work has been widely published in leading fashion and sports magazines. His mixed-media creations have been exhibited worldwide, including at MEAM, the Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona, Tokyo, England and Italy.
He has won hundreds of awards in the world's leading international photo and art competitions.
Marco Benedetti has worked in the USA, UK and Italy with Joel Grimes, Greg Gorman, Miss Aniela London, Peter Coulson, Paolo Roversi and many other leading figures in international photography.
